Its been a long time since I updated. Been really busy nowadays although I get to book out on Friday more often. Reasons? guard duties ( just did one yesterday), new project, preparing to book in, going out to enjoy my weekend. My weekends are much more precious nowadays.

Training had been tough and I expect it to be alot crazier in the coming weeks. Sometimes I feel like I’m going through POW training.

My weekend plan for the new year:

Woke up at 830, met Danson and went to Macritchie Reservoir to meet our section mates. Zhi Qiang, Wei Lun, Ben, Jia Junn and Darius were there. I haven’t run since Thursday because of my fever and I’m still recovering. My head still feels clogged and my mind is very slow nowadays, the kind of feeling I hate the most. :(

Anyway, we had a great run today. Feels great to breathe the fresh air out there and sweat it out after resting at home for so many days. We ran 5km today. 5km used to be a daunting distance to me, but it seems to be the minimum nowadays. Darius really helped us alot today. He corrected the mistakes we made while running and gave us lots of tips to improve our running. I really should give him a treat some day. They are planning to go play some water sports some day, something which I really look forward to.

Ben drove us to Adam Market for lunch after running. The nasi lemak there rocks. Ben almost got a ticket for parking without coupons, we saw the parking attendant near the car when we got back. :D

Went back to NP to collect my diploma after that, something which I procrastinated doing for 6 months. :D

I remember reading an article on bodybuilding.com about hot and cold showers a few years ago. I cant find the article now, but I still remember some parts clearly. It says that hot water helps our muscle to relax, while cold water forces our muscles to contract, alternating between hot and cold water while showering helps to improve blood circulation and aids recovery. I don’t know if this is true or not, but for some reason, I tried this method a few days ago.

It feels EXTREMELY comfortable, especially when my muscles are feeling sore after a heavy workout. Its like having a full body massage while being in a jacuzzi (water massage) at the same time. I can’t think of any word to describe this feeling. Hmm.. maybe orgasmic? :D

My muscles usually feel sore and tired for 2 to 3 days after a heavy workout, but now I can recover within 2 days. By recovering faster, I can increase the frequency of my workouts and maybe grow faster? It also helps me to sleep better at night.

Hot & Cold showers FTW !

How to train to do Planche Pushups

90 degree pushups

I’m currently training to do a full planche pushup. I’ve added pseudo pushups to my workout routine and they are really damned effective in building my upper back muscles.
