I just took a DISC Personality Test, recommended by my cousin’s cousin (considered my distant relative?), Meng Choo. She says that the test is 82% – 90% accurate, so I decided to try it out.

My results: Dominance 32, Influence 28, Steadiness 8, Conscientiousness 32

I’m a DC :D

  • Dominance – relating to control, power and assertiveness
  • Influence – relating to social situations and communication
  • Steadiness (submission in Marston’s time)- relating to patience, persistence, and thoughtfulness
  • Conscientiousness (or caution, compliance in Marston’s time) – relating to structure and organization

Heres the wiki entry for more information

I remember reading an article on bodybuilding.com about hot and cold showers a few years ago. I cant find the article now, but I still remember some parts clearly. It says that hot water helps our muscle to relax, while cold water forces our muscles to contract, alternating between hot and cold water while showering helps to improve blood circulation and aids recovery. I don’t know if this is true or not, but for some reason, I tried this method a few days ago.

It feels EXTREMELY comfortable, especially when my muscles are feeling sore after a heavy workout. Its like having a full body massage while being in a jacuzzi (water massage) at the same time. I can’t think of any word to describe this feeling. Hmm.. maybe orgasmic? :D

My muscles usually feel sore and tired for 2 to 3 days after a heavy workout, but now I can recover within 2 days. By recovering faster, I can increase the frequency of my workouts and maybe grow faster? It also helps me to sleep better at night.

Hot & Cold showers FTW !

Checked my weight at the weighing machine after my workout just now, it reads 60.3 kg! woohoo! I’ve been trying to hit 60kg since 1902380123 years ago, so its quite a big thing to me.

I thought that my abs and thigh muscles would be less defined if I gained weight, but my abs are still as toned as ever. I think the reason why I am gaining weight so slowly is because of irregular meals and the subconscious fear of losing my 6 pecs. I’ll work on improving my eating habits and diet.

Next Goal: Reach 63 kg.

Excitement is a higher state of happiness. Set goals which makes you excited, instead of merely happy. Excitement is a greater motivator than happiness. If happiness is the end you seek, strive for excitement.

I spent 2 hours following the videos and finally got it right ! :D It took me quite some time to get used to the notations and algorithms.

The cube I play with belongs to my sis. Its not the official cube, the colours are different (pink instead of yellow) and the stickers are peeling :? plus it feels really tight and flimsy. I wanna get the official cube to practise with.

New Goal: Solve a 3×3 cube within 3 minutes (by 5th of April). :D

The rubik’s cube craze is back, and its alot crazier this time. I see people playing it on the train almost everyday and people are really getting better (and faster) at solving it, all thanks to the number of tutorials on Youtube.

After watching the tutorials myself, I’m convinced that it is really damned easy to solve, even a 3 year old can do it. Its all about memorising algorithms and applying it when needed.

I’ve added “Learn how to solve a rubik’s cube” to my “Things to Do Before I Die” list. I wanna learn it because it is not something which will take me years to master, most people are able to solve a 3×3 within 3 minutes with 1 month of practise. I find it quite entertaining to watch people solve the cube and it can be a great ice breaker at times.

Here are the tutorials by Dan Brown, enjoy :D

If you still think that its hard, heres something to keep you motivated.

She solved a 3×3 rubik’s cube in 1min 54 seconds (Psst.. and shes only 3 years old 8O )

Great article on polarity by Steve Pavlina:

Darkworkers, Lightworkers, and Levels of Consciousness

I’m a darkworker. I believe that I am not born to please the world, but to please myself. In doing so, I please the world 8)

I enjoy designing systems to automate routine tasks I have to do frequently, especially those that are repetitive in nature. I wrote programs to help me with my homework during my school days and when IRC was popular back than, I wrote scripts and programmed bots to manage channels I owned.

Recently, I spent alot of time thinking of how to create more time for myself. I spend alot of time helping out at my mum’s store everyday doing lots of repetitive stuff from day to night. Even though my mum hired helpers to help me at the store, I still can’t leave the store because the new helpers are still unclear of what to do. I still have to be there to guide them till they are able to tend the store on their own.

Most of the tasks are repetitive and easy to implement, the problem is having to remember what to do at different times. Therefore, I decided to create an extremely detailed list of instructions for them to follow. I spent 3 hours typing out the list, organizing every task into groups and time intervals. Instructions on how and when to perform every single task were clearly written on the “instruction list”.

Today, I passed the instruction list to the evening helper and told her that as long as she followed every single step written on the list, she will be able to manage the store effortlessly. She did as I said and followed every single step on the list without any supervision or instruction from me. The outcome was perfect! Every corner that had to be cleaned, every dessert that had to be topped up was done perfectly.

I just freed myself 5 hours of time everyday! Instead of having to spend 9 hours at the store, I only have to spend 4 hours now. I never knew that I could apply programming techniques in such a context. The program I wrote (instruction list) was executed perfectly by the processor (evening helper) .

The 3 hours I spent preparing the task list just saved me countless number of hours. I now have more time to do what I like :D

I just passed my Final Driving Theory Test :D and got my Probational Driving License. I was searching for driving instructors when I came across a comprehensive list of private instructors on the SPF website. It shows the passing rate and contact number of each private instructor.

After going through the list, I found some instructors with very nice statistics.

Instructor Name Contact Number Number Tested Number Passed Passing Rate
Tan Lai Soon 97682348 129 79 61.2%
Daniel Ng Keng Hwa 98566210 255 119 46.1%
Tan Key Chuan 82882122 316 133 42.1%

Instructors listed above have taught more than 100 students and have a passing rate of at least 40% . Thats impressive. I’ll be calling them to find out their rates.

Do you think that it is possible to love someone unconditionally, regardless of who they are?

Like someone who hates you, a stranger, a murderer or a terrorist. Would you love them for who they are?

People often say that they love their parents/spouse/friends unconditionally, but it dosen’t seem unconditional to me because being your parent, spouse or friend is a condition itself. For example, the reason why I love my parents unconditionally is mainly because they are my parents (a condition).

How about Altruism?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Altruism

Altruism in Social Sciences
According to psychological egoism, while people can exhibit altruistic behavior, they cannot have altruistic motivations. Psychological egoists would say that while they might very well spend their lives benefitting others with no material benefit (or a material net loss) to themselves, their most basic motive for doing so is always to further their own interests. For example, it would be alleged that the foundational motive behind a person acting this way is to advance their own psychological well-being (“good feelings”)

Therefore, I believe that love is conditional because unconditional love dosen’t seem logical to me at all (At least for now).

Anyone care to enlighten me?
